Palm Desert Sober Living is a program that allows both freedom and structure to coexist. 12-step meetings and other therapeutic activities are encouraged, as they teach newly sober individuals how to take care of themselves and monitor their recovery on a daily basis. Recent research has shown sober living to be tremendously effective in promoting long-term recovery from alcoholism and addiction. Residents of Palm Desert Sober Living are able to attend school, to work, and attend outside meetings. They are randomly drug tested and are given the structure needed to succeed and sustain long-term sobriety. They have reasonable curfews and daily chores to build positive habits. Palm Desert Sober Living provides residents with valuable life and transitional skills to evolve from the sanctuary of residential treatment to sober living and then a return to independent living.
